For idli
Use the batter as it is after it comes to room temperature. Grease your idli plates, pour, and steam until a skewer comes out clean — usually about 10–12 minutes depending on size.
For dosa
Add a little water to loosen the batter for easy spreading. The pack is mildly salted — sprinkle a pinch more salt if your family likes a bolder edge on dosas
Before you buy
Please don’t pick a puffed-up pack — gas inside can mean spoilage. Choose a pack that feels firm and cold from the fridge, and keep it refrigerated at home right away.

Is Zeppin Ragi batter the same as rice batter, just darker?
Same idea — fermented idli–dosa batter — but ragi replaces much of the rice for finger millet. You’ll notice a nuttier colour, a gentle earthiness, and a slightly different crumb. Many families keep both packs in the fridge and rotate through the week.
Why is it only “mildly salted”?
Salt levels are a personal choice across homes. We season lightly so you can enjoy idlis and dosas as-is, or add salt, green chilli, or cumin to the batter before cooking without overshooting.
Can children eat ragi idlis every day?
Ragi is a traditional weaning grain in many Indian households. As with any food, offer age-appropriate portions and watch for allergies. If you have medical dietary restrictions, check with your paediatrician or nutritionist.
What does the wheat allergen line on the pack mean?
Our facility also handles wheat in other production runs. We follow strict cleaning protocols, but if you have celiac disease or severe wheat allergy, please consult your doctor before consuming.
